All the information you need to know about heaters.
How does a panel heater work?
A panel heater works by using electricity to heat up the metal heating element inside the heater. This element then radiates heat into the room, warming up the surrounding air. The built-in thermostat allows you to control and maintain a desired temperature for optimal comfort.
What’s the difference between a panel heater and other electric heaters?
Panel heaters feature a sleek, minimalist design, making them perfect for efficient, long-term, heating. Panel heaters offer a discreet alternative to bulkier, noisier options like fan or oil-filled heaters.
What size panel heater do I need for my room?
As a general rule, allocate approximately 100W of heating power per square meter of space. For smaller bedrooms, a 1kW heater is typically sufficient, while larger living areas are better suited to a 2kW heater.
Are panel heaters energy efficient?
Panel heaters are known for their energy efficiency compared to other types of space heaters. They also have timers and thermostats which are effective tools for minimising heat waste.
Can I use a panel heater in a bathroom?
Yes, you can use a panel heater in a bathroom as long as it is specifically designed for this purpose. Look for models that are IP-rated for bathroom use. It's important to always follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe and appropriate usage.
Do panel heaters make noise?
Devola Panel heaters typically do not make much noise, if any at all. They are designed to operate silently, making them a great choice for use in bedrooms or other quiet spaces.
Can panel heaters be wall-mounted and freestanding?
Devola heaters include both fixings and feet, giving you the flexibility to either mount them permanently on the wall or move them wherever you need warmth.

Powerful 2kW Heating and Adjustable Temperature
With a maximum output of 2kW, this panel heater provides responsive heating for suitable rooms in the home or office. The adjustable thermostat offers a temperature range of 5°C to 50°C, allowing you to select your preferred setting.
The heater also features several operating modes to suit different requirements:
Eco Mode: Operates at half of its full heating capacity, providing a lower heat output when full power is not required.
Comfort Mode: Uses the full 2kW heating capacity and operates according to your selected settings.
Anti-Frost Mode: Designed to help protect against very low temperatures by activating heating under the conditions specified by the manufacturer.
Timer Function: Allows you to schedule heating to suit your routine and avoid running the heater when it is not needed.
Using an appropriate temperature setting and heating schedule can help manage electricity consumption. Actual running costs depend on usage, room conditions and your electricity tariff.
Safety Features
The Devola Designer panel heater is Lot 20 compliant and features a child safety lock that disables the touch controls when activated, helping prevent accidental changes to the settings.
Its IP24 rating indicates protection against water splashes and access to hazardous parts by fingers. For bathroom installation, check the manufacturer's instructions and applicable UK electrical requirements to establish whether the intended location is permitted.
