Keep curtains closed during hot, sunny periods to block out heat, and open windows at cooler times of the day or night to let fresh air in — then close them again before the room warms up. This way, the air conditioner starts from a cooler baseline, allowing it to bring the temperature down faster and operate for less time.

"We've already had plenty of use out of this aircon unit with the recent warmer weather and its been a lifesaver! Cools our 5x3m bedroom down in around 20 minutes (that's without a window kit so would be more efficient with one!) The only negative is that the window kit provided is for sliding windows and the majority of windows in the UK aren't like this so I have had to purchase one separately which I think will only improve the output of the machine even more! It's quite loud, but not horrendous, I slept fine with it on low. You'd struggle to watch TV with it on, but again, I expected no different as it is pumping air out at a force so naturally you're going to get noise from that as you would with a fan on. I've already recommended this unit to our friends as I think its great, the black looks really chic and modern, it's matt not shiny and the most important feature is it cools the room down brilliantly! The air quality feels much better too - is it possible to have posh feeling air? As that's how it feels after use! Highly recommend! Just make sure to check room size suitability to get the best from it :) The only things I'd improve is a better universal window kit, and a longer hose as you're quite restricted with placement in the room"
"I bought this unit for my daughter’s school to use during the recent heat wave. The school created a cool room for children to use and cool off. I have not used the unit personally - but staff said that the unit was very easy to setup and worked well for the intended purpose. Only thing to add is that the unit is quite heavy - requires 2 people to move when boxed."

The second is that the exhaust hose tends to be a little flimsy, as in it detaches itself from the unit rather easily. Apart from the above, the device is very effective, and quite elegant for a portable unit."
