To help your cooling unit run efficiently and use less energy, prepare your space in advance. Keep curtains closed during hot, sunny periods to block out heat, and open windows at cooler times of the day or night to let fresh air in — then close them again before the room warms up. This way, the air conditioner starts from a cooler baseline, allowing it to bring the temperature down faster and operate for less time.
Portable air conditioners pull in warm air from the room, pass it over a cold evaporator coil to extract the heat, and then release the cooled air back into the space. "Works as advertised. It is a bit noiser than expected. And the velcro tape provided for window seal is not very sticky, which is a bit annoying as seal often opens up on the other hand it means tape is very easy to remove from window frame and doesn't leave any marks. It is powerful enough to cool my room in the most recent heatwave by a couple degrees. It will never reach advertised 26 degrees but it is good enough to have a reasonably cool room."

"Set up was easy - I let the AC unit stand upright for 24 hours once received to let the gas settle. I found it easy to attach the hose to the back and had no issue reaching my window as the hose is a bit longer than other brands. I’ve only used the cooling function a couple of times but the wind was strong and on 23 degrees it made the room very cool by the one hour mark. The window kit was also easy to attach to the window but I had a second pair of hands helping me. I could have done it alone but it would have taken me longer. Sound wise it is noticeable but not annoying (a bit like being on a plane and getting used to the cabin noise), I got used to it. I’ve not tried sleeping with it on as I’m a light sleeper, but I think I could sleep with earplugs in. I see it as a worthy investment now that the summers are getting hotter. Delivery was quick too. Would recommend to friends and family. I hope I can use it for many summers as it was a big purchase for me personally."

"I brought this a few weeks ago to get ready for a hot summer, put an outlet through the wall in lounge and connected the unit to the outlet. With the recent hot spell kept the Lounge and then with the long trunking was able to manouver the unit to the hallway to cool the bedrooms down (live in Bungalow). Brilliant and really pleased how efficent it was and Bungalow was cool throughout. Much better than having fans all over the place."
