A patio heater uses propane or electricity to generate heat, which is then dispersed through a heating element. This creates a warm and comfortable outdoor environment for you and your guests.

The main difference between gas and electric patio heaters is the source of energy they use. Gas patio heaters typically run on propane or natural gas, while electric patio heaters use electricity as their power source. Devola patio heaters run on electricity, offering an energy-efficient solution that produces zero carbon emissions when paired with green energy sources.

When choosing a patio heater, consider the size of your outdoor space - larger areas need more powerful heaters. Also, think about your climate - colder areas may require a bigger heater than milder ones. Most Devola patio heaters cover between 12-22 square meters of outside space.

Patio heaters are generally safe to use, but it is important to take precautions when operating them. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and make sure the heater is placed on a level and stable surface. For example, a small 1.5kW electric patio heater consumes 1.5 kWh of electricity per hour when operating at full capacity. At an average rate of £0.25 per kWh, running this heater for one hour would cost approximately £0.38.
